Panerai “FIDDY” 1950 PAM00127

The PAM127 is the most mythical PAM of the Richemont years. Also called “Fiddy », the model is the watch which will drive the first serious wedge into Bettarini Luminor design from the «Pre-Vendôme» years, with its 47 mm diameter. In 1936, the navy commissioned a steel, waterproof, mechanical wristwatch with a waterproof strap that needed to be highly readable in the dark — in essence, a modern Panerai. Rolex supplied the cases and most movements for the next twenty years, and with the exception of its recognizable crown guard and integrated lugs, the basic design hardly changed during that time. With few derivations, this Panerai 127 from 2002 — nicknamed the “Fiddy” for the “1950” on the dial — is faithful to those early, classic pieces.

Made in a limited edition of only 1950 pieces in 2002, the model is one of the most sough-after by Paneristi worldwide. The model is a fine, large, cushion-shaped, water resistant to 100 meters, stainless steel AISI 316L, 47 mm diameter, military-type diver’s wristwatch with a stainless steel Officine Panerai buckle
